While they’re simple in design, improper selection or installation can lead to costly failures, downtime, and lost productivity. 1. Improper Material Selection

Choosing the wrong elastomer is one of the leading causes of O-ring failure. Exposure to incompatible chemicals, extreme temperatures, or pressure can cause swelling, cracking, or rapid degradation.
